Agricultural Economic Survey (SEP) 2024 Training in BPS-Statistics Salatiga Municipality

The 2024 Agricultural Economic Survey (SEP) is a series of activities for the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) which will be carried out throughout Indonesia. The Agricultural Economic Survey (SEP) is a follow-up survey after the complete ST2023 census which is expected to be carried out periodically in accordance with recommendations from The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

SEP 2024 will be held on 1 – 30 June 2024. In this activity, not all farmers will be visited by officers, but only sample farmers will be visited by officers for data collection. The sample of farming households in Salatiga Municipality is 550 households spread across 13 sub-districts.

On 27-30 May 2024 BPS-Statistics Salatiga Municipality carried out SEP 2024 training. This training was held online and offline. Online training will be held on 27-28 May 2024, where participants can connect from their respective locations. Meanwhile, offline training will be held on 29-30 May 2024, at the Grandwahid Hotel Salatiga. This training was attended by 15 prospective officers, 11 people will serve as Field Enumerators (PCL) and 4 people will serve as Field Supervisors (PML). This training was guided by instructor Raina Damarsari, Young Expert Statistician of BPS-Statistics Salatiga Municipality.

This training aims to improve skills, understanding and equalize perceptions regarding concepts and definitions, so that participants in conducting surveys can photograph sample households according to actual conditions. It is hoped that this training will help improve the quality of data collected to be used as a reference for the government and stakeholders in planning and formulating policies for both internal and national development purposes.
