The Human Development Index (HDI) of Salatiga Municipality in 2024 increased compared to the previous year, reaching 85.72 or growing by 0.86 percent or an increase of 0.73 points compared to the achievement in 2023 which was 84.99.

The increase in the HDI of Salatiga Municipality in 2024 is supported by improvements in all its components, including longevity and healthy living, knowledge, and a decent standard of living.

In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in Salatiga Municipality in 2024 have a life expectancy of up to 78.27 years, an increase of 0.34 years compared to those born in the previous year.

In terms of education, children in Salatiga Municipality aged 7 years and above in 2024 are expected to enjoy education for 15.46 years, almost equivalent to the time required to complete a Diploma III or Bachelor's degree. This figure increased by 0.02 years compared to 2023, which reached 15.44 years. Additionally, the average length of schooling for people aged 25 years and older also increased by 0.24 years, from 11.24 years in 2023 to 11.48 years in 2024.

The dimension of a decent standard of living, measured by the average real per capita expenditure (adjusted), increased by 446 thousand rupiahs (2.68 percent) compared to the previous year.
