ECONOMIC CENSUS 2026: Special Family Recording (K1)

August 6, 2026 | BPS Activities

The 2026 Economic Census is a BPS activity that takes place every decade in years ending in 6. The Economic Census not only reaches households and business actors, but also ensures that no one is left out through K1 (Special Family) Data Collection.

A special family is a group of people who cannot be classified as a regular family due to their living arrangements, social relationships, or life conditions that differ from conventional families. They include residents of collective places, institutions, or non-permanent locations, so the relationships between individuals are not always based on blood ties or formal family bonds as listed in the family card

The 2026 Economic Census Team of BPS Salatiga City is carrying out K1 data collection as part of efforts to provide complete, accurate, and inclusive data. The data collection is conducted for special families such as orphanages, Islamic boarding schools, military barracks, and other special families already identified by PPL door to door. With comprehensive data collection, every community member can be represented in official statistics as a basis to support targeted development planning.

This data collection is part of BPS's commitment to reach the full scope of data collection according to the 2026 Economic Census methodology, so that the resulting statistics can provide a complete picture of the economy as a basis for planning and policymaking.
